MicroVision schedules 2Q17 report ?3

MicroVision plans to report its earnings for the second quarter before market open on Thursday, August 3rd.  The average estimates from 2 analysts covering the company comes to a loss of 9 cents per share on $807K in sales with the current quarter jumping to $3.8M.

As with BGC, I suspect these analysts are asleep at the wheel.  The company should be receiving a $10M up-front payment on the development contract that was announced in April, though that revenue will be recognized as a liability on the balance sheet.  More detail on the progress against this contract is likely to be more important than the quarterly numbers, but it's quite possible that hard details will not be available yet.  However, the rebate rate is currently well above 40% and has spiked over 50% earlier this month.  Consequently, while its difficult to predict timing, I think risk/reward is now favorable for MVIS.
