STMicro confirmed in MPCL1 ?1

Chipworks has done a tear down of the MPCL1 and confirms that STMicro is producing the Microvision die.  The blog also notes the similarities and differences to the MEMs systems in Microsoft's Kinect 1 and Intel's RealSense modules, which is also produced by STMicro.  I mention this because not because I think there is any direct connection, but because it's easy to imagine that Microvision's technology will also eventually find use in scanning and tracking applications. 

For now, though, the key word is eventually.  MVIS has seen some of the weakness that I was concerned about, but the broader market remains a factor, especially in light of this morning's employment report, and the near certainty of a rate hike on the 16th.
