Covanta schedules 3Q18 report ?3

Covanta has scheduled its third quarter report to be released after market close on Thursday, October 26th.  The average of 8 analyst estimates calls for earnings of 8 cents per share on revenue of $452M with current quarter sales at $469M.

As mentioned this morning, energy and metal markets should help Covanta's business slightly.  Tip fees in local municipalities could provide a bigger boost.  An update on the Rookery project should also be available, and that will have to serve as a proxy for the mid-term outlook in the British isles.  Islands are naturally the first to need what Covanta has to offer, but they won't be the last.  As long as oil is part of the picture, better integrating plastic disposal should be another long-term goal.  I've already written about how the long term and bigger picture probably relies on new partnerships.  It remains to be seen how national-level politics could be problematic in that effort.  It's looking like that may apply to a lesser extent in Australia, as well as America.  Let's hope the world is made up of small places.
