LG Display to compete with Samsung in mobile +1

Reports are spreading that LG Display plans to follow Samsung's lead in ramping up AMOLED sales to external smart phone makers, in addition to its television screen sales.  I suspect that the shatterproof screen on the Droid Turbo 2, which I reported on yesterday, is being made by LGD since it seems similar to the one in LG G-Flex 2 phone.  Although LGD seems to have a lead in flexible mobile screens, it currently has far less total AMOLED mobile production capacity than Samsung.  My guess would be that they can convert LCD lines and plan to ramp that way.  In any case, I never thought there was really any doubt about LG Display competing more in the mobile market, but it's good to see some confirmation.
