IDT schedules 4Q17 report ?3

Integrated Device Technology has scheduled the report on its fourth quarter of fiscal 2017 to take place after market close on May 1.  On average analysts expect the company to earn 34 cents per share on $175M revenue, with current quarter sales climbing to $182M.

Until a few days ago, IDTI had been declining modestly and I had been cautiously accumulating the stock in accordance with my recent notes.  Past earnings announcements have resulted in some fairly dramatic moves for the stock, which is somewhat pricey by traditional metrics.  Nonetheless, I remain of the opinion that the company is well-managed and making the right moves in memory interfaces, sensors and wireless charging.  Real progress in most of these areas wasn't expected until the second half, but with Intel having recently introduced new processors and, finally, Optane drives including 3D-Xpoint, the first of those will merit particular attention.
