Resonant adds details on its new 5G filter structure +4

As promised, Resonant provided some additional details on its new 5G filter structure this morning.  The new information boils down to this statement:

Resonant’s XBAR is a new bulk acoustic wave (BAW) structure that can be produced in silicon using standard processes.
with two performance claims:

I have to start by stressing that this is a scientific building block rather than announcement of a commercially ready product.  Thus, I don't expect this to necessarily have immediate impact on RESN.  I'll further note that quantifying the potential value of the claims strains my technical knowledge on the subject.  Nonetheless, this looks like a big deal.  My initial research does seem to indicate that, if the claims are true, then Resonant has created a step towards improving microwave filter performance by multiple orders of magnitude. That would significantly increase the possibility of a transaction accelerating the recognition of value in the stock.

Resonant still has to resolve its CFO mystery, and I will be very eager for the next earnings report, which should be coming early next month.  In the meantime, what I can say is this: So far Resonant seems to have shown the ability to design new filters more quickly and efficiently than the incumbents.  That's a substantial advantage by itself.  However, in my early summary of Resonant's potential, I wrote that the business model would be sustained by "getting paid to design more modestly new types of filters".  If this press release and my understand of it are correct, we can remove the "modestly" qualifier from that statement.
